Amy Smart is a former American actor and model. Amy Smart, who was born and raised in California USA began her modelling in Italy. Her Costly Affair, a 1996 TV film that she played her first part in, was her debut part. The actress struggled for a small role in Starship Troopers. It was difficult for her to make the transition between modeling and acting because models were not thought of as actors and tended to be given smaller and inconsequential parts. Amy did her best to get noticed and eventually she was offered bigger parts beginning with The 70s, the movie Varsity Blues. Then she stepped into lead roles in the 2005 romantic comedy film Just Friends which also starred Ryan Reynolds. Amy finally got the recognition she had been chasing more than a decade. Amy was in several big movies in the Crank trilogy alongside Jason Statham. And she had a part in a series of recurring roles in The Shameless series.
